Trefor and Vicki Williams
I was so pleased to have this great couple for Miskin at Easter 2000, they very soon fell into the Miskin spirit and became very much part of the weekend. Since then they have been impressing audiences right across Britain. They joined us twice again since and I am very pleased to welcome them back again this Easter 03. Watch out for them in the scratch band on Sunday evening, they really enjoyed it last time.
Following the great reception to their debut CD "The Bare Branch" they now have another entitled "Timeless Land" (Sample here).
Already well received, this will be taking pride of place in many a discerning collection. I'm proud to say there's a little bit of Miskin Magic here too. One of the tracks from the new CD Vicki and Trefor learned from Sarah Morgan during Miskin at Easter 2001.
Have a quick listen to "Keep you in peace" here. It certainly sums up my feelings at the end of a Miskin happening .
Meanwhile here's a bit more about them.
From North Wales, they perform most styles from mediaeval songs in a capella harmony, through to contemporary material (including some of their own compositions) accompanying themselves on acoustic guitars.
A few quotes :
".. immediately impressed with their obvious empathy, quiet assurance, distinctive vocal harmonies and playing style..."
- Traditional Music Maker
"Attractively sung and played ... time very pleasantly passed... "
- fRoots
"...Original songs that are as varied as they are enjoyable..."
- Sticks
