Dave and Ann both singer song
writers on their own accounts are becoming well established as
a respected song writing team. They have been delighting us at
Miskin and increasingly throughout the Festival circuit for several
years now and they have at last released
a splendid collection of 21, all self penned, songs.
Our good friend Old Father Ted
has written a review for Folk
on Tap, the Magazine of the Southern Counties Folk Federation, which
he has kindly allowed me to quote from here.
************************************************
“A collection of self-penned songs in the folk tradition
covering a wide range of subjects from the magical to the mundane”
The new genre in which they now
specialise will make you laugh and make you think (which is a
difficult thing to achieve – both at the same time)
It is just not fair to bring out any one of the
songs above the others – but I will – from the grey
matter belonging to David I love the song “Muesli”
and their live performance of this track is great. Ann has the
talent to write songs that people swear they have heard before.
“Take a little drop” is just one of those. The title
song “Scarecrow”
was the first from the joint pens and is, in itself, timeless
and great.
Thank you for a great CD.
CD Cost: £10.00 + £1.50 postage and
