Mary Barr and Liz Randall

They are both members of Travelling Folk and residents of the Seaford Folk Club and have a wide experience of singing, which they share in their workshops for voice development. While singing with the Shellback Chorus, they dreamed of forming their own female shanty duo and so Magwitch was born. Women singing shanties I hear you ask? No problem with voices as strong as theirs. They have gradually broadened their repertoire to include songs from a woman’s viewpoint as well as the traditional work songs. Their varied material and irreverent approach ensure a fun evening in their company.

They will; be continuing the very succesful voice workshops which have become a fixture at Miskin.
